I just learned that Gilt Groupe is no longer offering the $25 credit incentive to ask friends to join the site. Very disappointing. Now instead they are offering free shipping for every 10 friends you invite (big whoop, Gilt)!
We are thinking positively that other sites will not follow suit and that Gilt will change their minds on this. This feels like a bit of a slap in the face to bloggers, who, like myself have been writing about the site since it started back in 2007, and who’ve made the site as popular as it is today. I was the former editor of DenimBlog, and here’s my very first post ever about a sample sale – check out the date and author!
Even retail websites like Tobi and ShopBop now are offering credits when you invite friends to join, so it doesn’t make sense as to why Gilt would pull the plug on this program if its obviously working for many other sites. Not only that, Gilt is about the only sample sale site not to have an affiliate program (which is how most bloggers make enough money to stay afloat and pay for hosting).
It’s rare that we ever have anything negative to say about Gilt, but this SUCKS and we are mad at Gilt for it. Are you disappointed too? Write to Gilt and tell them to bring back the credits at firstname.lastname@example.org
***UPDATE AS OF 3/9/2011 – Gilt has now released an affiliate program on Google’s network for bloggers. However the credit policy for consumers has yet to be re-instated.
How Long Does Levitra Last when she understood that it is necessary to buy from us. At it didn’t remain a choice and everything was necessary to buy up that will find on our site. I can’t write its address.
