One of the most frustrating things for us as a website was when Facebook recently added in “Sponsored Stories”, or as I like to call them, “Pay per Post”. We have over 6,800 fans on our Facebook page, and our Page insights would routinely tell us that 500-700 fans at anyone time were seeing our posts prior to Pay per Post. Now that number has dwindled down to maybe 80 of our 6,800 fans seeing our posts. The reason is because Facebook now is essentially forcing business pages to pay for posts to show up in reader’s newsfeeds. As a small growing company, that’s something we just can’t afford to do on every post.
As a Facebook user, I feel its a form of censorship, as Facebook is now deciding what pages I see in my feed based on how much that company paid. But there is a way around this that may help us show up in your feed on a more regular basis. On every business or fan page that you “LIKE” on Facebook – make sure to click on the LIKE button and select GET NOTIFICATIONS and SHOW IN NEWSFEED. Voila. Censorship averted.
Now, if you haven’t already – please go LIKE us on Facebook and do the above so you get all the amazing online sample sale deals in your Feed!
